The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has begun an investigation in connection to a bio-bubble breach involving Shakib Al Hasan. The incident during a practice session in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League. The incident reportedly took place during a training session on Friday when Shakib Al Hasan of Mohammedan Sporting Club was having a batting session at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. An outsider entered the bubble when Shakib was having a batting session at the indoor facilities.

According to reports, Shakib practiced along with his teammates Asif Hasan and Ruyel Miah. Two net bowlers were also spotted, who both were neither part of Mohammedan nor a part of the bio-bubble. During Shakib’s practice. a man with a white shirt, who was also coming in physical contact with the net bowlers, was seen clicking pictures. The BCB is investigating the entry of the outsider.

If reports are to be believed, the net bowlers are from ‘Masco Shakib Cricket Academy’. They were brought after they underwent COVID-19 tests. Although, the identity of the person remains unknown.

BCB have taken the matter seriously

“We are disappointed by what happened. CCDM and BCB have taken the matter seriously. The safety of teams, cricketers, and officials is of prime importance to us. To form the bio-secure bubble, we had to pay huge amounts and put in loads of hard work,” said Kazi Inam Ahmed, the Chairman of Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis.

The tournament's disciplinary committee is supposed to investigate the incident. Notably, the BCB said before the tournament that any breach could mean a fine, suspension, and even point deductions for the club.

Shakib Al Hasan & Mustafizur Rahman set to miss remainder of IPL 2021

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and pacer Mustafizur Rahman are likely to miss remaining matches of IPL 2021. The pair have been denied NOC by Bangladesh Cricket Board. BCB President Nazmul Hassan stated as quoted by Bdcrictime, "It's almost impossible to give Shakib and Mustafizur NOC for the IPL 2021 because of international duties and T20 World Cup coming as well. So each match is important." As a result, the duo will miss the second-leg of IPL 2021 in UAE.
