England batting-all rounder Danni Wyatt has expressed that the chance to play cricket in the Commonwealth Games 2022 is like a 'dream come true.' The Lionesses have been one of the most consistent teams in the Women’s cricketing circuit and were in the final of the 2022 Women’s 50-over World Cup.

With Commonwealth Games happening in England and women's cricket being a part of the tournament for the very first time, England would be hoping for a medal from its cricket team. The Cricket tournament as part of the CWG will include eight teams - Australia, Barbados, England, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and South Africa.

"We cannot wait. Obviously, it is new for us and being part of the Commonwealth Games is a dream come true. I have always watched it. I have always watched the Olympics as well and it really kicked in last week when we had the kitting out day," Danni Wyatt was quoted saying.

"We are all really, really excited for it. Everyone that is here deserves to be playing for England. It is definitely a good sign for the future of the Commonwealth Games," she added.

The England team is currently playing a multi-format series against South Africa at home. The Brits registered a draw in the only Test match and then dominated in the ODI and T20I series. The English have won all three ODIs and two T20I matches.

The Lionesses registered a six-wicket win in the second T20I as they chased down the target of 149 runs. Wyatt played a crucial role for her side in the match as she scored 39 runs off 24 balls. The final T20I game of the series is left which will be played on Monday at the County Ground in Derby.
