The ongoing rescheduled fifth Test between England and India has seen the visitors dominating the game for most of the session. Team India has a commanding lead of 257 runs by the end of Day 3. Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara will resume the proceedings on Day 4 hoping to post a competitive target on board.

While India’s top-order once again crumbled down in front of England pacers, a lot will rely on the shoulders of wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as they demonstrated exceptional batting skills in the first innings of the match. Rishabh Pant smashed the fastest century by any Indian wicket-keeper as he went on to muster 146-runs in just 111 balls in the first innings.

On the other hand, Jadeja played perfect second fiddle to Pant, but after his dismissal, the all-rounder took the charge and perfectly guided his innings with the tailenders. The top-seeded all-rounder scored his maiden century on foreign soil as he helped India to pile a staggering 416/10 in the first innings. Notably, the duo added 222 runs for the sixth wicket in India’s first innings of the Test match.

While, the whole cricket fraternity saluted heroic knocks from both the batters, South African legend AB de Villers is new to join the bandwagon as he termed the counterattack partnership between both as ‘the best in Test cricket’.

Taking to Twitter, AB de Villiers hailed the pair for their superb knock as he informed them that he watched highlights of their performance. He wrote, “Haven’t been home and missed most of the Cricket action. Finished watching the highlights now. That counterattack partnership from @RishabhPant17 and @imjadeja is right up there with the best I’ve ever seen in Test Cricket!”
