The T20 World Cup 2021 eventually concluded on Sunday with Australia lifting their maiden trophy in Dubai. However, the tournament did not end up as exciting as the previous editions with toss playing such a crucial role, especially in Dubai. Before the grand finale, teams batting second emerged as winners in 11 out of 12 matches with dew playing a significant role in the second half of the contests.
Something very similar happened on the D-Day as Aaron Finch's side very comfortably hunted down the 173-run target on the back of brilliant knocks from David Warner and Mitchell Marsh. It was another sad ending for Kane Williamson who himself stole the show in the first half of the match with his brilliant 85-run knock.
However, his heroics were just not enough for his side as the Kiwi bowlers failed to make an impact in difficult conditions. As it turned out, the Men in Yellow took advantage of the fact that they were batting second as they went on to become the champions.
Fans unhappy with toss playing spoilsport
As expected, the fans were left disappointed with the fact that Australia eventually made it a one-sided contest with dew playing a big role. The netizens expressed their unhappiness on toss ruling the tournament as they hailed toss as 'best player' of T20 World Cup 2021. While some felt sad for Williamson, the others just praised the Aussies for their triumph.
