Saturday was the day for teams batting first as both the games were won by teams batting first. While it was Rajasthan who beat Mumbai in the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday, it was Gujarat who came victorious against Delhi Capitals. The Hardik Pandya-led team showed great composure to defend 171. Lockie Ferguson was the man of the moment for Gujarat with his 4 wickets in the game.
The pacer first rattled through the top order in his first spell as he dismissed Prithvi Shaw and Mandeep Singh. He then returned to account for well-set Rishabh Pant who was looking to get away with the game. Ferguson also dismissed DC’s last match hero Axar Patel. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals lost the plot completely as they failed to set the chase rightly.
