The third day of the finals of World Test Championship 2021 witnessed some contrasting display by India and New Zealand pacers. While the Kiwi bowlers swung the ball both ways to bowl out India on 217, the fans were expecting a similar performance from the Indian trio of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. However, much to the surprise of everyone, none of them could make a big impact as the New Zealand top order looked quite comfortable against them.

While Ashwin got his side the first breakthrough, the second wicket went to Ishant that too after a mistake from Devon Conway. Kane Williamson's side looked in a very comfortable position at the end of Sunday's play with the score reading 101/2 in 49 overs.

Fans question the exclusion of Bhuvneshwar Kumar from Indian squad

After the Indian pace trio failed to make an impact in Southampton, the fans started to question the team management's decision to exclude Bhuvneshwar Kumar. While some stated that Bhuvi would have been deadly in these England conditions and could have also provided depth in batting, the others opined that a swing bowler like him is a necessity in the side while playing in the UK ahead of the other three who are seam bowlers instead. The fans expressed their disappointment on social media and flooded Twitter with tweets which got 'Bhuvneshwar Kumar' trending on the platform.
