Taking a strong jibe at the critics, Virat Kohli has given a big statement in the press conference on Monday. The India skipper has said that people enjoy the downfall of players. The statement from Kohli comes in context of the criticism India batsman KL Rahul is facing right now. Notably, the Karnataka batsman failed with the scores of 1,0,0 and 14 in the recently-concluded T20I series against England which put him under the critics' radar for a while now. However, Kohli has indicated that Team India will keep backing the batsman irrespective of what people say or opine.

In the press conference, Kohli said that people enjoy the downfall of players. However, talking about the comments of critics, he said that he neither gives attention to it and nor wants to. Talking about the form of players, Kohli said that it's is not that one forgets to play cricket, it's just that one is unable to perform.

KL Rahul's dipping form

India batsman KL Rahul is having the hardest of times. He has scored 3 ducks in his last 5 international knocks. In the recently-concluded T20I series against England, India were eventually forced to make Rahul warm the benches while Kohli opened the innings for the side with Rohit Sharma in the fifth T20I. The partnership worked well for India as the duo added 94 runs for the opening wicket in the game.

With the T20 World Cup round the corner, the dip in form for Rahul is not a good sign for him. As not only Kohli performed well as opener but newcomer Ishan Kishan has also been a sensational find for India at the top order. With plenty of options available for India, a return for Rahul will be hard, especially in the T20I squad.
