Lovers of sports are all set to be spoilt for choice on October 24, 2021. Even the term Super Sunday seems to be an understatement. It is going to be a massive Sunday. With all the sporting disciplines gradually finding their feet after the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the sports fraternity has a huge day on the fourth Sunday of October. But one might choose to wonder what is it on this date that makes it such a big occasion for sports fanatics.

First EL Clasico post the era of Ronaldo, Messi, Ramos

Notably, October 24 is set to host a range of significant clashes be it the Men's T20 World Cup, in the La Liga, Premier League, Serie A or Ligue 1. While the date will witness the first El Clasico of the season with Barcelona meeting Real Madrid at Camp Nou, what makes this contest different is that it is set to be the first Clasico in close to two decades without Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo.

While Ronaldo had already made an exit from the Spanish League, Ramos and Messi recently moved to the Ligue 1. With none among the three stars present, perhaps the match may see the emergence of a new star and usher in a new era in La Liga.

Paris Saint-Germain will meet Olympique de Marseille

In Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain will meet Olympique de Marseille on the same day at Stade Velodrome. With the likes of Messi, Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi and Georginio Wijnaldum all donning PSG colours, it is set to be quite a momentous occasion.

Juventus vs Inter Milan

Meanwhile, in Serie A, two champion teams in Juventus and Inter Milan will meet on the same day. While Inter Milan had clinched the Italian Champions title last season, Juventus will be looking to get the title back with Cristiano Ronaldo making clear that he is very much part of the Juve squad at least for this season.

Manchester United to take on Liverpool

Two of the world’s biggest clubs and certainly the Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool will be locking horns on the same night. While United finished second last season, the Reds ended third and neither of them would be willing to give an inch to their opposition.

The mother of all contests- India vs Pakistan

In a cricketing contest that will perhaps be the talking point at least in this part of the world, arch-rivals India and Pakistan will meet in a blockbuster of a clash in the Men's T20 World Cup on October 24. It's a dream come true for sports lovers.
