However, in these difficult times, the world of cricket has united in the battle against COVID-19 and some people have come up with heartwarming gestures to lend a helping hand to the nation. Earlier, Aussie speedster Pat Cummins started the much-needed initiative after he had donated $50,000 for oxygen supply. He was hailed by the fans from all over the world for his valuable contribution.

Brett Lee joins the initiative

It now seems that Cummins has inspired a lot of other people from cricket fraternity to come ahead and make a difference in India's ongoing battle with COVID-19. Brett Lee, who is currently working with the broadcasting team in IPL 2021, has notable donated 1 Bitcoin (around INR 42 Lakh) for the purchase of oxygen supplies to hospitals across the country.

In a heartfelt post on Twitter, the 44-year-old said, "India has always been a second home for me. The love and affection that I have got from the people of this country both during my professional career and even after my retirement, holds a special place in my heart." Lee added that he is saddened to see people suffering due to the ongoing pandemic and want to help the ones in need.

The former Australian speedster also thanked Pat Cummins for starting this initiative and inspiring everyone who are in a position of privilege to make a difference. Brett Lee, who is a beloved personality in the country, has certainly won the hearts of Indians once again with his actions.
