Five-time champions Mumbai Indians had a disappointing outing in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. For the first time in the tournament's history, Mumbai finished at the bottom of the points table after losing ten games and winning just four games. Rohit Sharma-led side started on a low note as they lost back-to-back games on the trot, but the franchise bounced back and won a couple of matches to end their campaign on a high note.

Mumbai Indian skipper Rohit Sharma failed to deliver with the bat and could not live up to the expectations, but he emerged as a perfect leader who motivates youngsters and backs the new brigade in the team. In a video posted by the Mumbai Indians franchise, Rohit Sharma, while leaving the IPL's bio bubble, can be seen suggesting MI's youngster Ramandeep Singh to stay in touch with him and call him if he needs anything. While Ramandeep came to bid goodbye to his skipper, Rohit responded by saying, "Take care, buddy. Call me If you need anything."

Notably, Ramandeep had a hot & cold season as he played four matches for the franchise, where he took four wickets at an economy of 6.25 and made 34 runs in the tournament. Earlier, Ramandeep shared how Rohit Sharma and Mahela Jayawardhane have helped him throughout the tournament and backed him. "Rohit Bhai told me that we are preparing you for upcoming seasons. We will guide you so that you can perform for us later," he said.

Ramandeep's best performance came against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he picked three-wicket and conceded just 20 runs. However, MI all-rounder has confessed that he idolises Andre Russel and wants to play a similar role for Mumbai Indians. He was earlier quoted saying, "The way he is playing for Kolkata over the years, I want to do the same for Mumbai Indians. He has been performing with bat, ball and fielding as well. He is a perfect all-rounder," Singh said.

Speaking of the IPL, Gujarat Titans will take on Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday evening (May 24) in the first Qualifier, followed by the eliminator between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers. Bangalore on Wednesday evening (May 25).
