Call of Duty season 4 is nearing its end and that means next season is on its way already. Call of Duty season 5’s release is touted for June 1 and will be called Tropical Vision. As is the case with all COD seasons, Season 5 will also have its own theme. While Season 4 aka Wild Dogs, is centered around deserts, Tropical Vision is expected to visit the climates on the other end of the spectrum, specifically lush forests and ancient ruins.

So, with a new season of Call of Duty all set to rock, here is everything you need to know about it.

Release Date

The Call of Duty Season 5 is locked in for release on June 1, 2022 at 5.00 PM PT.

New Map

COD Season 5 will have an Apocalypse map that was first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It is a small to medium sized map built for aggressive play. The center lane is a hotbed of activity, and multiple interior spaces create plenty of opportunities for both tactical and head-on frantic battles. To either side of the center lane stand the village and the temple, both perfectly suited for hiding and converting tactics.

New game mode

COD Season 5 will also have a new game mode, Guns Blazing Encore, an 8v8 multiplayer mode. In this new Multiplayer mode, players will be able to use their custom Loadouts but will be denied Scorestreaks and Operator Skill. Players will become super-soldiers if their Fury gauge reaches 500. For that, they will have three ways: (1) Earn 100 points for eliminating a normal Operator, (2) earn 100 points upon death, and (3) earn 300 points for taking out an enemy super-soldier.

As a super-soldier one enjoys benefits like Dual-wield Death Machines, with 200 rounds total and increased health. However, when a player is eliminated, or expend all of their ammunition, they will revert to the default operator state.

Other updates

Other than a new game mode and a new map, players will also get a chance to lay hands on the Oden that is making an appearance as a level 21 reward for the Battle Pass. Echo grenades will also be up for grabs. Players also get an assortment of camos, Weapon Blueprints, and the From the Grave Calling Card at Tier 50.

Few technical upgrades like enhanced UI and Bots with player-like skins will also be seen in COD season 5.
