While Motorsport fans are eagerly looking forward to the Canadian Grand Prix which marks Formula 1's return to Canada since 2019, the Friday practice ahead of the main race on Sunday is in danger of being washed out. Heavy rainfall in Montreal meant that even the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve wasn't unaffected and the outer part of the track witnessed waterlogging on Thursday evening.

The weather was worse even in the early hours of Friday and if it does not get any better, the Canadian GP practice scheduled later on June 17 may be washed out.

What is the weather forecast in Montreal?

The weather forecast in Montreal as per Accuweather does predict good chances of rain even on Friday. While there is 3 to 37 per cent chance of rain between 7 am to 1 pm (local time), from 2 pm to 6 pm (local time) which includes that at the practice timings the possibility of a downpour increases to 49-57%.

Meanwhile, Saturday too there is a heavy chance of rain with Accuweather predicting a 90 per cent chance of rain on June 18. However, the weather is likely to be clear on Sunday with the prediction showing only 1 per cent chance for rain.
