India skipper Virat Kohli has hailed his team after their emphatic performance against England in the second Test in Chennai. The hosts completely outperformed the visitors in all departments as they cruised to a huge 317-run win. India have now moved to the second spot in World Test Championship standings.

Superb character and fighting spirit on display: Virat Kohli

Captain Kohli, who was under the pump after the loss in the first Test, hailed his side’s character and fighting spirit as Team India bounced back in the series because of a stellar show in Chennai. He also added that the team is now fully focused on the next Test, scheduled to start on February 24th.

Captain Kohli led from the front at Chepauk

Virat Kohli faced a lot of criticism for his captaincy in the last Test. The Indian skipper, however, silenced his critics through his excellent leadership skills in the second Test at Chepauk. Right from the team selections to the field placements, Kohli was sensational throughout the match. After getting out on a duck in the first innings, he also revived India’s second innings through a flawless 62-run knock on a rank-turner. Reflecting on his batting in the post-match conference, Virat said, “I take a lot of pride in improving myself and correcting my mistakes quickly. If I make an error, I make sure I iron it out in the next innings.”

Team India ready for the Ahmedabad Challenge

The third Test of the series will be a Pink-Ball match. Newly-constructed Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the much-anticipated contest. The Indian skipper accepted that it is going to be very challenging since the England Team has a lot of quality players in their side. Kohli admitted that his side will need to be on their ‘A’ game throughout the next Test.
