The round of 16 in UEFA Champions League 2020-21 came to an enthralling end on Wednesday. After a grueling group stages followed by the first phase of knockouts, we are left with top 8 teams who will fight it out to claim the ultimate glory. The eight teams left in the prestigious competition are: Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Porto.

The draws on Friday will decide which team will be up against each other in the highly-anticipated quarter-final clashes, starting April 6 onwards. However, before the draws get revealed, we have predicted a few face-offs for the Round of 8 which could potentially be mouth-watering contests for the football fans.

Quarter-Final 1 - Chelsea vs PSG

Thomas Tuchel, who recently joined Chelsea from PSG, could be set for an exciting re-union if this draw comes true. The German manager had guided the Parisians to UCL final last season which was their most successful season in Europe. With Tuchel's Chelsea currently on a 13-game unbeaten run under him, it would be an epic contest against Pochettino's star-studded PSG.

Apart from Tuchel, this match-up would also see the return of former PSG captain Thiago Silva, who will turn up for the Blues defending against Neymar and Mbappe.

Quarter-Final 2 - Bayern Munich vs Manchester City

Pep Guardiola is undoubtedly one of the most successful managers in history of club football. The Spanish coach, who won two UCL titles with Barcelona unfortunately missed out on winning a UCL title with Bayern Munich. The 50-year-old manager is currently aiming for his maiden title in Europe with Manchester City.

It would be a match made in heaven if two of the most attack-minded clubs and almost-confirmed domestic champions, are drawn against each other. This clash would also see star player Leroy Sane facing his former club.

Quarter-Final 3: Real Madrid vs Porto

Pep's heroics against Juventus guided Porto to a famous win in Round of 16. The former Real Madrid defender was at his absolute best against his old teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. If Porto draws Real Madrid, Pep would surely want to leave a mark against his friends in the form of Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos.

Both the teams also have a rich history, having played against each other in knockout stages in 1979 and 1987.  While Los Blancos cruised past in both those seasons, Porto would want to enter the history books by securing a famous win over Madrid.

Quarter-Final 4 - Borussia Dortmund vs Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp's charismatic leadership has turnaround the fortunes of two clubs, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. The 53-year-old manager was instrumental in Dortmund's success before leading Liverpool to UCL title in 2019. The match-up between these two clubs could be a really intriguing one with both the sides looking to put aside their domestic campaign's disappointment with a better show in Europe.

With two of the best left-footed players in world football on display, the fans would want to see who comes out on top between Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah with both players eyeing a big-money move this summer.

This could be some potentially high-voltage encounters in this season's Champions League quarter-final. The draw will be held on Friday (March 19) at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, starting 4:30 PM IST onwards.
