McLaren's new driver Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most beloved racers in Formula One. Not only does he rule the hearts of F1 fans with his charming personality, the 31-year-old is often at the heart of most interesting stories happening behind the scenes. Recently, the driver made a crazy bet with his new boss which left the fans in shock.

A win-win scenario for both Danny and Zak

The 31-year-old has notably entered into a bet with McLaren's boss Zak Brown which states that if Ricciardo gets a podium finish in F1 2021 season, the boss of Woking-based team will allow him to drive his Dale Earnhardt Jr’s, 1984 Wrangler Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

On the other hand, Ricciardo has also promised a gift in return. After listening to his boss's side of the bet, Daniel also wanted to promise something in return. When Zak suggested the idea of shoey, the Aussie immediately agreed and said, "Done. The trophy and the boot you’ll drink from, you can keep it.”

Ricciardo and bets go hand-in-hand

It is not the first time that the 31-year-old has got into an extraordinary bet like this. Last year, when Daniel was racing for Renault, he had asked his boss Cyril Abiteboul to get a tattoo made if he finishes on podium. The driver kept his promise when he claimed his first-ever podium finish for Renault during the Eifel Grand Prix on October 11, 2020. He was quick to point out the fact in post-race conference that the bet was for real.

The 31-year-old had a decent debut outing in his new car as he finished seventh in the inaugural race of 2021 season in Bahrain. With a bet like this, it will be extremely interesting to see if Ricciardo can fulfill his promise once again.
