Rajasthan Royals are one of those franchises in Indian Premier League who are known for treating their players like families. While they might not have had a great start to IPL 2021, they have definitely won the hearts of all the fans with their off the field gestures. Whether it was the heartwarming farewell for the injured Ben Stokes or a supportive message for Liam Livingstone, RR have ensured that the players feel at home in these difficult times. While the fans are already in awe of the actions of franchise, Rajasthan Royals came up with another beautiful gesture for their new-signing Chetan Sakariya.
Chetan's tough journey
As the 22-year-old Chetan Sakariya made a stellar debut for Rajasthan Royals, the whole world got to know the struggles that the cricketer and his family had been going through in last few years. Just three weeks before the IPL auction, Chetan’s younger brother died by suicide. The 22-year-old got to know about the death after 10 days since he was playing in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at that time.
Heartwarming gesture by RR
Chetan's family had revealed later that the cricketer was very close to his brother and was deeply impacted by his death. Rajasthan Royals, who bagged the services of the left-arm pacer for INR 1.2 crore, came up with a special gesture for their young signing. The franchise gifted a No. 28 (Chetan's number) RR jersey to the youngster with the initials of his late-brother (R.K - Rahul Kanjibhai) on it. The shirt also had a 'I miss you bro' message imprinted on it.
The special gesture by the franchise has definitely earned them a lot of respect from the fans. Everyone would just hope that Chetan can continue his impressive form and this beautiful game can help him fulfill all his dreams.
