Premier League team Chelsea are considering bidding for Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo who wants to leave the club this summer if a suitable offer arrives as per reports. The Red Devils are adamant that Ronaldo is not for sale and have restated that he will remain with the club till 2023. But the 37-year-old has clarified his desire to part ways and has not returned for pre-season training on Monday citing family reasons.

Last month, reports also addressed that new Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly had a recent meeting with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes, where a transfer to Chelsea was among the subjects they discussed. Similarly, the move for CR7 could also see fruition as CFC coach Thomas Tuchel is a long-term admirer of the Portugal international. But any decision on the transfer requires Tuchel’s blessing and dialogue with Ronaldo on his fit into Chelsea’s system and style.

Similarly, Brazilian forward Neymar Jr. has also been linked with the London-based club as he is also ready to part ways with his current club Paris Saint Germain. As per recent rumours, Chelsea has emerged as a  favourite to sign Neymar, with Todd Boehly's desire to make a big statement in his first transfer market this summer.

Likewise, Neymar’s Brazil teammate and close friend Thiago Silva has expressed his wish of wanting to see the former Barcelona player joining him at Stamford Bridge. However, the big question arises of whether the club and its manager Thomas Tuchel are willing to recruit the 30-year-old.

Le Parisians had signed the Brazilian for a record €222 million from Barcelona in 2017 which had broken the footballing economics. The first reports about Neymar’s transfer were based on speculation about the Brazilian’s negative reaction to the comments made by PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

So far in this transfer window, Chelsea has been weakened as they have lost key defenders like Marco Alsonso, Christensen and Antonio Rudiger as free agents. Alonso and Christensen are set to join Barcelona while Rudiger was picked up by the 2021 UCL champions Real Madrid. Similarly, Blues winger Hakim Ziyech is also reported to leave the club amidst rumours linking him to AC Milan.
