Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his intent to leave the club this summer. Premier League club Chelsea's new owner Todd Boehly has shown interest in signing the Portuguese forward as a replacement for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

Chelsea football club are preparing a £14 million bid for the 37-year-old, according to popular sports journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Manchester United had an disappointing 2021-22 season as they failed to qualify for the forthcoming Champions League season by finishing at sixth place in the Premier League. The Red Devils were knocked out of the UCL in the round of 16 by Atletico Madrid.

Although Cristiano has a year left with United, a move to Stamford Bridge is more likely to happen if head coach Thomas Tuchel allows the transfer. Meanwhile, the Blues have already agreed personal terms with winger Raheem Sterling for a £45 million transfer deal.
