As a result, the players whose contract is expiring might be heading out of the club. While Andreas Christensen and Cezar Azpilicueta are reportedly on their way to FC Barcelona, the latest report by La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Antonio Rudiger has also agreed to join Juventus on a free transfer this summer.

The centre-back has been one of the key players for Chelsea in their recent success under Thomas Tuchel but it looks like the end of road for him at the club. The 29-year-old has reportedly signed a deal with the Italian club until 2026, where he will be paid €6.5 million per season. It will see Rudiger getting a significant hike from his current contract, where heearns €5.2 million per season in England.

Rudiger could play a key role in the new Juventus era

Juventus have had a tough season this year, following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. They were knocked out of UCL in Round of 16 and are potentially out of title race. However, the club has taken giant strides in re-building themselves under Massimiliano Allegri and will be raring to bounce back next season.

Having already got Dusan Vlahovic, Manuel Locatelli and Moise Kean on board, the addition of Antonio Rudiger will further bolster the squad for next season. The defender is expected to form a solid partnership with Matthijs de Ligt, with the future looking rather bright for Juventus.
