IPL 2021 is just 6 days away and CSK has received yet another blow just before the start of the tournament. A member from the Chennai Super Kings camp has returned positive for COVID-19. However, according to a reliable source, none of the players and support staff personnel has contracted the virus.
One member of content team tests positive
In the recent round of tests, a content team official has been confirmed positive for the virus ahead of IPL 2021. “It is an official from the CSK content team. His tests came through today, following which he has been completely isolated from the rest of the squad. It can be confirmed that he didn’t go anywhere near the players and support staff. So they are all safe and the team will continue to practice as usual today,” a team source confirmed.
Meanwhile, 8 groundsmen have also tested positive at Wankhede Stadium ahead of the cash-rich league. Seeing this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Hyderabad and Indore as the venues which can be looked into if things get worse.
