There are lot of concerns around the future of Christian Eriksen after his contract with Inter Milan was recently terminated. The Danish footballer, who suffered a cardiac arrest during EURO 2020, is notably legally not allowed to play in Italy with a heart defibrillator implanted. This is one of the reasons why both the parties came to a mutual consent to terminate the contract of the midfielder.

However, it doesn't mark the end of Eriksen's professional football career! In a recent interaction with Sky Sports News, his agent Martin Schoots explained that the 29-year-old footballer is recovering well and there is a possibility that he could be back on the field once again in future.

There is no reason not to be optimistic: Martin Schoots

"Christian is doing really fine. We're hopeful he can get back in professional football. There is no reason not to be optimistic. He is working really hard, and I'm glad that he was able to do that during the last few months in silence," Eriksen's agent said.

He also opened up on the possible destination for the Danish footballer, if and when he is ready to play. Schoots added that the player will spend the rest of his career in Europe only because of family reasons.

"It's too early to say where Christian's future lies. Because of special regulations in Italy, which have already existed for decades, the only thing we know for sure is that it will not be in Italy. And it will not be in another continent either, because of family reasons," Schoots said.

He even went on to say that a few clubs have already contacted him some weeks ago and they are hopeful about player's future, which seems bright according to him. Notably, Eriksen's former clubs Tottenham and Ajax have been linked with a possible transfer for the Danish footballer.
