Call of Duty (COD) Mobile fans, a lot of happiness is around the corner for you all. The second-anniversary update is going to be really special for the users as well. It will bring loads of new changes to the game including new maps, tournaments, battle pass highlights, and others. As confirmed by Activision, COD: Mobile Season 8 is all set to start on 23 September at 8 AM IST.

On its first anniversary update, in 2020, the developers introduced players to the Alcatraz map in the Battle Royale mode. And this year, it is going to be bigger than that. A new BR map is coming to COD Mobile in Season 8. Activision announced on Twitter that the Blackout from Black Ops 4 which was the first-ever map in the COD franchise, is now being added to the COD Mobile. It will have all the featured multiplayer regions like Estate, Nuketown, Construction site, and many more.

With the new mode, players will get new settings and mechanics as well. The major highlights of the new battle royale mode include new and enhanced visuals, a new weapon looting system, improved vehicle UI elements, and new health and armour system. Activision has also confirmed that it is also planning to announce a new tournament set on the Blackout map, as part of the Anniversary season. Three new events, an Anniversary Cake event, an Anniversary Puzzle event, and a new themed event called Counterattack, are also reportedly being added.

What else is coming in Season 8 update?

Activision has confirmed that players will have an opportunity to earn 50 new tiers of Battle Pass rewards. New characters such as Alias- Battlewoen and Velikan- Volcanic Ash, new functional weapons- the R9-0 shotgun, will also be added. Other elements like the M13 assault rifle, a new Scorestreak, Weapon Blueprints, Calling Cards, Charms, Call of Duty Points (CP), and more will be added later in the season. The company is also bringing Non-Player Characters and PvE gameplay to COD: Mobile for the first time by adding a Limited Time Event called Counterattack.
