After a breathtaking 10 days of sporting action at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, it is now time for the final day of action in the quadrennial event. So far it has been an exciting event, one that has seen several records being shattered while a few contests not living up to the hype. But in any case, there was no shortage of entertainment.

As the Birmingham Games come to a close on Monday, here are medal and result predictions from the final day of the event.

1. Lakshya Sen to win gold medal

Even though it's the last day of the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, India are likely to get a few gold medals on Monday. Lakshya Sen will start the gold medal match of the men's singles category in Badminton as an overwhelming favourite. Not only has he been in great form in the build-up to the tournament, but he has also shown even in the Commonwealth Games, why he is being considered a potential Olympic medallist. Sen is the top seed and is much higher ranked Tze Yong.

2. PV Sindhu to clinch gold medal

Much like Sen, PV Sindhu is also expected to help India finish the Birmingham Games on a high. She is predicted to win the gold medal in the women's singles final against Canada's Michelle Li. Sindhu has loads of experience of playing these high-pressure matches and is a two-time Olympic medallist apart from tasting world championship success in her career. The gold medal beckons Sindhu on Monday.

3. England to win bronze in Men's Hockey

England should manage to hand South Africa a defeat in the Men's Hockey bronze medal match. They have been the more consistent team in world hockey than South Africa. However, as the South African displayed against India, they have the ability to catch the higher ranked teams by surprise. Having said that, England will start the game as favourites and should be able to bag the bronze medal.

4. Australia to beat India in men's hockey final

This is a huge match for India. Australia have handed India many a heartbreaks in the past at this stage and seems like they can do it all over again on Monday. On paper, they look like the better team but much like the Women's cricket team got the better of England in the semifinal, here is hoping that the men's hockey team proves this prediction wrong. But the prediction from here is that Australia should be able to win the match.
