It's been an action-packed week at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. The first six days of sporting action has delivered on its promise of bringing the best of sports to the world as several existing Commonwealth Games record have been shattered. India have also done reasonably well in these games, breaking a few CWG record along the way, especially in the sport of weightlifting.

Moreover, their historic gold medal in the Women's fours lawn bowl event also grabbed a lot of attention. While India are expected to continue to add more medals to their tally, it is Australia who are currently leading the medals tally having won 42 gold medals already and taking their overall tally to over 100 medals.

Here are a few medals and result predictions for Day 7 of the competition.

1. Murali Sreeshankar to win gold for India

The first and perhaps the biggest prediction for Day 7 is that India's Murali Sreeshankar is likely to bag the gold medal. The 23-year-old long jumper will definitely clinch a medal unless something really unfortunate happens and even the colour of the medal at this stage looks set to be gold. Not only is Sreehankar fresh off a personal and seasonal best of 8.36m at the World Championships in Eugene, but the way he aced his qualification has also made India confident of a gold from him. Sreeshankar was the only athlete to breach the automatic qualification mark of 8m, having done so in his first attempt.

2. India to beat Wales in men's hockey match

Despite a 4-4 draw against England in their men's hockey match, India would be the favourites to beat Wales in their next group match. While they had to be content with a draw in the match against England, there were plenty of positives that they would want to take from that game especially the fact that they were leading for over 3 quarters of the match. A better awareness and adaptation in the final few minutes would have meant a completely different result. Wales should not be too difficult a hurdle for India to overcome.

3. Hansle Parchment to finish on the podium in Men's 110m hurdle

Olympic champion Hansle Parchment may be disappointed after losing out the opportunity to finish on the podium at the World Athletics Champions due to an injury but if he competes, he looks set to finish on the podium. He has an impeccable record and apart from his Olympics gold medal in Tokyo last year, he also boasts of a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games 2018. He has gone on record expressing his desire to improve that silver.

4. Australia to beat Jamaica in Netball

Australia will face Jamaica in their Commonwealth Games Netball match on Thursday. This is set to be a huge game. However, the Australian Diamonds are predicted to win this fixture. The Aussies are undefeated so far and beat Wales 79-33 in their last match at the games. Injury concerns seem to the only major hurdle for Australia before the match against Jamaica looms and the team might want to rest their key players before the semifinals.
