Punjab Kings had the highest purse going into the auction and no doubt were the busiest team throughout the event. They had only two players at the beginning of the auction hence there was a lot of work to be done. They showed their intent in the start itself by picking players like Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada to strengthen their team.
Having retained Mayank Agarwal (12 crores) and Arshdeep Singh (4 crores), PBKS had 72 crores in their purse which allowed them to bid the most. In the end, Punjab assembled a dangerous-looking squad and it would be interesting to see whether they are able to execute their plans in the IPL or not.
