CPL franchise Jamaica Tallawahs have retained explosive all-rounder Andre Russell for the 2021 edition of the tournament. Meanwhile, T20 star Chris Gayle is likely to miss the 2021 edition of the tournament as well. The “Universe Boss” had skipped the previous edition as well as he wanted to spend time with his family.
Weirdest franchise I have ever played for: Russell
Notably, Russell had called the Tallawahs the weirdest franchise that he has played for and confirmed that the 2020 season would be his last season with them. However, it seems Russell has sorted the differences with the management and will be part of the Tallawahs again this season.
No Pravin Tambe for Knight Riders in CPL 2021
48-year-old Pravin Tambe, who made his debut in the CPL last season for the Trinbago Knight Riders, was not retained by the franchise for this season. Tambe played 3 matches for the franchise last season and picked up 3 wickets. Meanwhile, Australian legspinner Fawad Ahmed was also left out of the list.
The Knight Riders retained the core of their squad, they released New Zealand wicketkeeper, Tim Seifert. Veteran West Indies’ wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin, returns back in the squad in place of Seifert.
