As India is fighting to come to terms with the shocking news of actor Puneeth Rajkumar's death, cricket fraternity has come forward to pay condolences to the "Power Star." Puneeth, best known for his work in the Kannada movie industry, breathed his last aged 46 due to cardiac arrest in Bengaluru. He was rushed to the hospital after complaining of chest problems.

The Hudugaru star had taken to Twitter to share his best wishes for the entire team of Bhajarangi 2. The tweet was put out at 7:33 AM within hours of which he was declared dead by the team of doctors.

Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore led the messages of condolences for Puneeth. They shared an old picture of Puneeth cheering for the franchise and wrote an emotional post.

"Gone too soon! Broken heart Shocked and deeply saddened by the passing away of one of the most loved actors in the cinema industry, Puneeth Rajkumar. Condolences to Puneeth’s family, friends and countless fans. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಶಾಂತಿ ಸಿಗಲಿ, ಅಪ್ಪು!

Former India batter and one of the all-time Test batting great VVS Laxman also shared a message of condolence.

"Shocked to hear about the demise of #PuneethRajkumar . My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti," he wrote.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag also posted a heartfelt message for the departed soul.

"Saddened to hear about the passing away of #PuneethRajkumar . Warm , and humble, his passing away is a great blow to Indian cinema. May his soul attain sadgati. Om Shanti," he wrote.

Veteran India spinner Harbhajan Singh also stated that he was shocked to hear about the news. "Life is so unpredictable," he said.

Cricketer turned coach Wasim Jaffer also joined in mourning the death of Puneeth. "Shocked to hear that Puneeth Rajkumar is no more. Life is so unpredictable. Gone too soon. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends," he posted.

Puneeth was the son of veteran actor Rajkumar. He is survived by wife Ashwini Revanth and his two children.
