On Monday, September 22, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced squads for an all-format tour of Pakistan, set to commence from October 12. With the series being announced just recently, South Africa will tour Pakistan for a multi-format series, including two Tests, three T20Is and as many ODIs until November 8.
With over a month left for the series, South Africa announced their squads across formats. The Protea Men will be without their skipper Temba Bavuma with a calf strain, Aiden Markram has been named the skipper of the side in his absence. The Test squad also sees a return of Simon Harmar, who hasn’t played a Test match since March 2023.

In another major development, wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock, who called it quits from ODI cricket, has reversed his decision and is named in the squad for the white-ball leg. Additionally, the side will be without Corbin Bosch and Dewald Brevis, who have been rested. While David Miller has been handed T20I captaincy, Matthew Breetzke will lead the side in ODIs.
