Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have commenced their preparations ahead of the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). With the next edition still far away, but with the IPL 2026 mini auction set to take place later this year between December 13 to 15, the franchise has its eyes set on the best, hoping to overturn their previous season’s performance.

Amidst this, the franchise recently found themselves at the centre of an engaging debate which saw several reports claim the franchise letting go off some key players. However, the trade and release rumours have been on since the end of the 2025 edition, but a report quoting Cricbuzz stated that the Yellow Army is looking to release Sam Curran, Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tripathi and Devon Conway.

Nothing’s official till you see it here: CSK ends players' release rumours ahead of IPL 2026 auction

However, none of the CSK officials have still confirmed of any such move, but the franchise took to social media to shut down the rumours. Known for its quirky responses and wit, the franchise once again brought it to the front as they captioned a post, “Don’t worry, we’ve updated the bio”, with a wink eye emoji. But as we scrolled to the bio, it read, “Nothing’s official till you see it here”, putting an end to all the ongoing rumours amid the IPL trade window and the mini-auction ahead.

Although, the quirky response has been going viral since then, the five-time champions will look to field their best combination after their dismal show last season. In IPL 2025, CSH finished at the bottom-most spot, registering only four wins in 14 games with eight points to their name.
