In the ongoing 12th match of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 between England and Sri Lanka in Colombo, the former got a rapid start as their openers Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont were looking confident against opposition bowlers. In the fourth over, when Sugandika Kumari came to bowl her second over, Beaumont smashed her for two fours and everything seemed perfect for the English team. However, on the fourth delivery of the over, Beaumont played a stroke towards the off-side and Kavisha Dilhari displayed alacrity which led to the run out of Jones, who failed to make it to the striker’s end.
After playing the shot, Beaumont ran towards the other end immediately but for Jones, it wasn’t feasible to make it to the other side as Dilhari looked stupendous with her reflexes. Eventually, the 32-year-old had to walk back to the dugout with her 11-run score off 13 balls.
