Kerala batter Rohan Kunnummal showed a brilliant display of athleticism to end Arshin Kulkarni’s innings during the ongoing match of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 against Maharashtra at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. During the second over of the first day of the match, Kunnummal, who was standing at slips, made a high jump to take a spectacular catch as Maharashtra lost their third wicket.

Coming to bat first after losing the toss, Maharashtra had a poor start as they lost two wickets without any run on board in the first over. Coming to bowl the second over, Kerala pacer Nedumankuzhy Basil bowled a short length delivery to Kulkarni which the Maharashtra batter tried to defend. However, he couldn’t connect it well as the ball found the edge of the bat and went towards the slip. After that, Rohan, who was standing at the third slip, made a long jump towards his right and ended up completing a stunning catch to send Kulkarni to pavilion for a duck.

Talking about the match, Maharashtra had a disastrous start as Prithvi Shaw and Siddhesh Veer went for duck respectively in the first over by M.D. Nidheesh. After that, Arshin Kulkarni also went for a duck after a stunning catch by Rohan Kunnammal as Maharashtra were reduced to 0/3 inside two overs. After a few overs, Maharashtra lost two more wickets and were reduced to 18/5.

After that, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Jalaj Saxena took charge of the innings as the duo didn’t let any wicket fall for the rest of the day so far. Gaikwad and Saxena have added more than 100 runs for the sixth wicket so far and both the players have completed their respective half-centuries. For Kerala, Nedumankuzhy Basil took two wickets, M.D Nidheesh put three in his bag.
