Team India introduces new drill ahead of Asia Cup match against Pakistan

Ahead of the game, the Indian players were seen engaging in new drill. In a video shared by Times of India (TOI), all-rounder Hardik Pandya was seen getting into the grove with fielding coach T Dilip. “Agar main dive maar raha hoon iska matlab main theek se move nahi kar raha (If I am diving it means, I am not moving and anticipating quickly),” quipped India all-rounder.

Speaking of the drill, it looked like a goalkeeper’s drill with a goalpost size safety net put far from the batting nets. In this, the task of the fielder was to protect the goal. Furthermore, it is interesting to know that the drill took place with a new ball in hand, seeing that it covers a distance at fast pace. Each player was seen taking two sets of five catches and kept on the rotating.

While Hardik took a stunning catch during the drill, he was followed by Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma. While Gill went for full-stretched catches and also earned praise from the coach who shouted, “You are making it a habit.”
