Still recovering from the loss against the Mumbai Indians, KKR prepares to play their second match at their home ground in the Eden Gardens against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 2. Ahead of their match against the Orange army, the skipper, Ajinkya Rahane, was seen hitting the ball for big sixes during a practise match.

Rahane played a captain’s knock even in the Riders’ match in Wankhede, where he scored 67 runs in 40 balls and helped his team secure a defendable total of 2021. He was supported by the young KKR prodigy, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who scored 51 runs in 39 balls in the high-intensity match. The batters performed extremely well for the team; however, it was the bowlers who ended up conceding runs and weren’t able to take quick wickets, which resulted in a 150+ opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickleton.
KKR or SRH, who will secure their first win at the Eden Gardens?
The Sunrisers, meanwhile, wouldn’t let the game slip so easily from their grip as they are also eager to secure their first win of the season. SRH, led by Ishan Kishan, in the absence of Pat Cummins, who is still recovering from his back injury, suffered a huge loss as RCB chased down their total of 201 in just 15 overs, putting a dent in SRH’s run rate.
Both the captains are leading by example by making quick big scores for their team, but it is the bowlers for both teams who are not able to take quick wickets. KKR secured their first wicket after a 150+ run partnership, while SRH took a quick wicket in the form of Phil Salt, but the partnership between Paddikal and Kohli ended up shattering their hopes of securing a win. It would be interesting to see what changes both teams will bring, coming into the match. Especially, KKR, as they would have to rethink how to use Green, since he cannot bowl as advised by CA.
