The Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Ajinkya Rahane has scored a brilliant half-century in a high intensity run chase against the Delhi Capitals. He has been struggling to be amongst the runs in the last couple of matches with a string of low scores but he seems to have finally found his rhythm. Rahane was able to pierce the boundary gaps with precision and he was able to keep the scoreboard ticking. The KKR skipper brought up his half-century off 31 balls and he is leading the chase for the hosts.

Finn Allen has been one of their most prolific batters but he wasn’t able to give KKR the start that they wanted. They lost 3 big wickets within the 10 overs and that seemed to have had a negative impact on the scoreboard. Ajinkya Rahane and Rovman Powell formed a decent partnership to steady the innings for KKR and it was quite a good one for the side. KKR will have a difficult task from now on as they have lost their skipper and a few quick wickets.

DC bounce back strongly with Kuldeep Yadav’s game-changing spell against KKR

In the second innings of the game, the Kolkata Knight Riders had a massive run chase in their hands as the Delhi Capitals had set a total of 204 on board. Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen put up a fine opening partnership of 43 runs and that set the foundation for chase. Manish Pandey walked in to bat at number 3 and he provided support to Ajinkya Rahane at the other end with some good shots. From then, Ajinkya Rahane and Rovman Powell formed a strong partnership which ensured that the Kolkata Knight Riders were still in the chase. But the wicket of Rahane did change the equation altogether for the home side.

After the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane, they lost 3 wickets in quick succession and scored just 1 run in that phase. The Delhi Capitals seemed to have cracked the code as they have dismantled their batting unit and Rovman Powell is the only real threat left in the middle. Kuldeep Yadav has made quite the impact coming in as the impact substitute as he has picked the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane, Cameron Green and Rinku Singh. Lungisani Ngidi also did a splendid job with two wickets and he bowled at an economical rate as well. The Delhi Capitals seem to be on top of their game and they will only have to fear the might of Rovman Powell at the moment.
