Strengths

Australia have plenty of fire power at the top of the order and on good batting pitches they might be very competitive. They also have good batting depth.

Weaknesses

On conditions where spin will play a big role, their middle order batters might find it difficult. Also losing Pat Cummins will be a big blow to their bowling line up.

X Factor

Tim David has been in the form of his life in the last few years in the T20 format around the world. He has done well in most franchise leagues and even international T20Is over the last few years. He will be a trump card for Australia.

T20 World Cup history Snapshot

Australia have won the WT20 only once and that came in 2021. They could not qualify for the semis of the 2024 WT20 where they lost to Afghanistan. They will be missing Pat Cummins and Starc but have a good enough squad and will be keen to do well in the 2026 WT20.
