LSG faces a batting collapse against KKR
As of writing, the Lucknow Super Giants at Eden Gardens, suffered a significant batting collapse, slipping from a steady start to 125/6 after 14.4 overs while chasing 182 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Despite a promising beginning, LSG lost 5 wickets for just 48 runs in a mid-innings slump that shifted the momentum entirely to KKR.
The instability began in the 5th over when Vaibhav Arora (KKR's Impact Player) dismissed both openers in quick succession. After a brisk start of 49 runs, Aiden Markram (22) and Mitchell Marsh (15) were both caught off bouncers within three deliveries, effectively resetting LSG's progress just before the Powerplay ended. The solitary resistance came from Ayush Badoni, who scored 54 off 34 balls. However, he was dismissed by Anukul Roy immediately after reaching his fifty, effectively ending LSG's hopes.
KKR's bowlers, particularly Vaibhav Arora (2/14) and Anukul Roy (2/24), successfully exploited a pitch that offered help for seamers early and slowed down for spinners later.
