But not long after this trailblazing event is over, the event that is all set to become the cynosure of the fans’ eyes is none other than the mega, the spectacularly entertaining Indian Premier League, aka the IPL.

And here is some interesting news that is bound to get the fan even further interested around the event, hailed as the most famous franchise T20 competition around the world.

The Indian Premier League is set to return later this month, with fresh updates emerging about the 2026 season. According to a report by Times of India journalist Gaurav Gupta, the 2026 edition of the tournament will begin on March 28 in Bengaluru. The season will run for just over two months, with the grand final scheduled to take place on May 31.  

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also expected to release the schedule for the first 20 days of the tournament soon, giving teams and fans clarity on the opening phase of the competition. As anticipation builds, franchises are already gearing up for another intense season of the IPL, which remains one of the most watched and competitive T20 leagues in the world.
