While IPL has been known for explosive starts and batters going all guns blazing against bowlers in powerplay (1-6 overs), there have been many instances when this plot has been overturned by exceptional bowling and collapse. As of April 27th 2026, DC vs RCB, Arun Jaitely stadium has seen one such spectacle. It all started with RCB winning the toss and opting to bowl, a few moments later Delhi Capitals batting order was ripped apart by Bhuvneswar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood in no time registering the lowest powerplay score in history of IPL 13/6.
It all started with Bhuvaneswar Kumar’s yorker in first over that took out Sahil Parakh and then Hazlewood bamboozled KL Rahul in the second over with a perfect line and length unplayable delivery hurled at 141.1 kmph. Rizvi then threw his wicket to Hazlewood for a golden duck leaving Delhi at 2-3. Not long after that, Stubbs too walked back to the dugout. Bhuvneshwar again chipped Axar with a late movement resulting in 5 wickets in just 2.4 overs. Soon after, Rana gave a catch to Devdutt Padikkal at wide slip and by end of powerplay they were just 13/6.
