
West Indies beat England by 30 runs in the 15th match of the WT20. England won the toss and opted to bowl first. They made a terrific start picking up two early wickets as both the openers fell cheaply. West Indies were in trouble with 8/2 after just 1.1 over. Shimron Hetmyer counter attacked and along with Roston Chase stitched up a partnership as they went to 55 before Hetmyer fell against Jamie Overton. Sherfane Rutherford walked in to the crease and started well. Roston Chase departed for 39 as West Indies went to 77/4.
Sherfane Rutherford looked in fabulous touch and was putting up another partnership with Rovman Powell. But at 128/4 just when they looked to comeback in the game, Powell was dismissed. Sherfane Rutherford changed the gears and went past his half century.
Jason Holder took the game on and played a terrific cameo as he ended with 33 of just 17 balls and Sherfane Rutherford made an unbeaten 76 runs of just 42 balls as West Indies scored 196/6 in the first innings. It was a par score at that venue. For the England bowlers Adil Rashid was the pick of the bowlers picking up two wickets in his four overs.

Chasing a target of 196, England started off really well with Salt going all guns blazing. West Indies picked up the first wicket for 38. But that did not slow them down as they continued their onslaught to the bowlers. Jason Holder gave away 24 runs in his first over. The second wicket fell at 74 for England in the seventh over. The spinners of West Indies pulled them back as Motie and Chase bowled really well in the middle overs. England kept losing wickets and were reduced to 90/4 and the game was in balance.
Brook continued to stitch a partnership with Sam Curran but once again England lost a couple of quick wickets as they fell from 131/4 to 134/6 and then 141/7. It was always going to be a stiff ask from there but England kept going and in the end it was too much and they were bowled out for 166. West Indies won the match and the player of the match was Sherfane Rutherford for his excellent knock.
