India were put into bat first against England in the second semi-final of the 2026 WT20 and they have gone all guns blazing. Despite losing Abhishek Sharma, they did not stop and it was Sanju Samson once again who smashed the bowlers all around the ground and smashed 89. He took on Archer and made sure India got a very good start in the powerplay. Mike Atherton on commentary made a statement that Sanju Samson reminded him of Rohit Sharma. The lazy elegance and class of Rohit Sharma was very notable in Samson and his knock today proved it.. Dinesh Karthik also agreed with it and said that could be a very high praise and he deserves it.

Rohit Sharma was present in the stadium for this match and watching Sanju Samson bat it would have pleased him a lot. Sanju Samson after his match winning 97* against West Indies in the previous match said in the post match that he learnt a lot from the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
