Gujarat Titans, once again came out victorious, and that too, in a much important stage of the IPL. Had they lost the game, they would have crashed out of the tournament much like their vanquished opponents Rajasthan have. But it wasn’t to be. It was another cracker of a contest, where despite all the thrills and the ups and downs of the game, Gujarat kept their nerve and much of their win has its credit pointing towards the Captain, but that’s not all there was also another batter at play. Shubman Gill lead brilliantly from the front and ever so able as a captain by hitting a glorious hundred it was his familiar batting partner at the other end, the buoyant left hander Sai Sudharsan who hit a cracking fifty to help the team get off to a great start.
Scoring 58 vital runs of just 32 odd deliveries, the left hander from Tamil Nadu was in peak form and displayed the flair and brilliance all around the park as he helped his team get on top of Rajathan as seen eventually.
However, as is often the case that in the mid of something glorious there is a bit of in order, there was an oddity in this case as well. And if you’re wondering what that was then look, nowhere else, but at the scorecard and in particular, the mode of dismissal of the left hand, Sudharsan!
Glad he can still see the funny side of it 😅 🎥 Sai Sudharsan on his back-to-back bizarre dismissals \|/#TATAIPL | #Qualifier2 | #TheFinalLeap | #GTvRR | @gujarat_titans pic.twitter.com/nGVrC10SUc

For the second time running, he was out his wicket. There was nothing spectacular that the bowler date with mercy respect, there was nothing spectacular that any fielder pet patrolling the outfield dead, it was just Sai Sudharsan and his law himself with the bat landing on top of the stump after he had hit a stroke well enough that the ball reached the fence for a boundary.
And the particular oddity in this occasion is that in the previous game, he was out hit wicket and then last evening he was out hit wicket as well.
In the Post match presentation, Ravi Shastri saw the lighter side of things and asked Sudarshan if he’s going to apply some glue (to the gloves that can make it stick to the bat handle), so as to not repeat the mistake in the much anticipated final against RCB and the batter had the following to say-
“I think am gonna try some grip tech, now! Bat a few balls and see how it is. But, honestly don’t have a lot many answers to how it happened.”
Furthermore Ravi Shastri asked Sai Sudharsan again that you are the only one who can answer it as to how it happened.. sharing again in lighter vein that “your accuracy is improving… today it hit the stumps in full.. and to that the left hander shared-
“See, seriously last game it just bounced a few times and hit the stumps. But this game I just wanted it to hit it straight away!”
The batter too, as one may note by his response was joining in the fun. Always good to see some light hearted reactions exchanged at the wake of a tense match’s conclusion.
