In a recent conversation with MI charcha, Rohit Sharma gave a witty answer when asked what kind of legacy he wants to leave for Indian Cricket. Rohit Sharma replied to it by saying that, currently, he doesn’t think of himself as someone who can talk about a legacy. He also adds that he might have the answer to this question if it is asked 10 years from now. In the present, he still wants people to think of him as a U19 player who is still in the process of being a great cricketer. He doesn't want to answer this question right now, just for the sake of it, and the only thing he wants to focus on is making India a “powerhouse for world cricket”.

"I don’t think about what legacy I want to leave. You ask me this 10 years later, I’ll tell you. Think of me like an Under-19 kid. Yeah, I don't want to make up things and tell you what I want to leave and what legacy I want to leave. But the thing is that I want India to be the powerhouse of world cricket. That is the bottom line."

Rohit Sharma talked about how he doesn’t want to focus on his personal achievements right now and focus on how he can contribute to world cricket, through different formats of the sport. Sharma added that becoming one of the greats is not just about how excellent he is as a player, but how, as a whole, the team can reach the upper tiers in world games.

MI’s performance to leave impact on fourth team set to qualify for IPL 2026 Playoffs

Despite being eliminated from the tournament, MI remains the talk of the town as their clash with the Rajasthan Royals will be crucial in determining which team secures the fourth position and stays alive in IPL 2026. PBKS, who were favourites during the start of the season, lost their way in the second half of the tournament and ended up losing their last six matches, which left their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs by a thread.

Although they secured a win against the Lucknow Super Giants, their chances of qualifying remain uncertain as the Rajasthan Royals are already on 14 points and a win today will take them to 16 points, surpassing PBKS. A loss today for the Rajasthan Royals will end their playoff hopes and they will have to wait another season to win the tournament.
