Two trailblazing - in-the-works cricketers and both being immensely important to their respective sides and both being on the cusp of doing something very handy and important for their teams-Tilak Verma and Brad Evans are both young and courageous and as one saw, have regard for one other.

Brad Evans’ sister, as one found out, is a big fan of Tilak Varma, so she requested his brother to get a video message from Tilak.

And truth be told, Verma is a fine cricketing idol to have as well. He’s young and bats with the carefree abandon of youth and is bold enough to hit shots in different sides of the ground. Someone who backs himself to go big for India and has a beautiful strokeplay, not to forget, along the ground as well! Tilak sent a lovely message and said he would meet her when he comes to Zimbabwe next time.

While on the one hand, this sweet gesture was cynosure of many eyes who saw the after match proceedings from the iconic Chepauk in Chennai, what was also a sign of disconsolation, particularly speaking, for the Zimbabwean fans was the very fact that their team lost to India.

Surely, Zimbabwe’s going in the Super 8 stage was always tasked with the peculiarity of confronting massive teams like India or the West Indies and not to forget, the Proteas, a loss, at the end of the day, is a loss.

That, however, should do little to dissuade their fans from taking a note of just how impressive and valiant they’ve been for the better part of the ongoing World Cup.

And for that and more, one ought to tip the hat to Sikandar Raza.
