Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Ishan Kishan smashed 72 runs off just 25 balls at a strike rate of 288 in the first warmup match of the season. Along with him, Abhishek Sharma, who has been appointed as the vice-captain of the side, nearly missed a well-deserved century, scoring 90 odd runs.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad will play the opening match of the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League against the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Sunrises Hyderabad, who had a season to forget in 2025, were runners up in 2024 because of their batting strength - which they are clearly showing once again. The likes of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Liam Livingstone, Ishan Kishan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Klaasen and others are surely firepower of the side.

However, the team is currently struggling with the bowlers, especially after the captain Pat Cummins set to miss initial games of the IPL. The team lacks strength in the bowling and would look to strengthen it ahead of the season. The main three bowlers of the side are Jaydev Unadkat, Zeeshan Ansari, and Eshan Malinga - which clearly shows the lack of depth in their bowling.

It will be interesting to see how SRH goes about in the season and whether their batting can help them win most of their matches which help them to win the title.
