Young prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s stay on the crease was once again cut short by his Rajasthan Royals teammate. Sooryavanshi, and the Indian side were up against their English rivals in a must-win 4th T20I at Bristol. The 15-year-old, who made his international debut during the second game of the series, could only manage to hit 15 runs, continuing his debut horrors. On the first ball of the third over, Jofra Archer opened his spell against his Rajasthan Royals IPL teammate with high velocity.
Archer adjusted his line, mixing up lengths to push the young left-hander back onto his crease and deny him room. On the fourth ball of the same over, Archer unleashed a 144 km/h sharp bouncer. The ball was tightly directed just outside the leg-stump line to cramp the batter for space. Sooryavanshi refused to back down and reflexively committed to an aggressive hook shot. The ball sharply climbed toward his shoulder, deflected off the glove/handle of his bat, and flew backward.
Sam Curran noticed the deflection quickly and caught the ball. Notably, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has endured a challenging start to his international career despite showing glimpses of his immense potential. In his last three T20I innings, the teenage opener has registered 14, 13 and 15, struggling to convert brisk starts into substantial scores. While his fearless approach at the top has impressed, opposition bowlers have consistently targeted him with disciplined plans, preventing him from playing the impactful knocks that made him a sensation in domestic cricket and the IPL.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s reaction after dismissal catches attention
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's frustration was evident after his dismissal during India's T20I against England, as the young opener cut a dejected figure while walking back to the pavilion. After failing to convert another promising start, the teenager looked skyward in disappointment, seemingly questioning what might have been before slowly making his way off the field.

Despite the setback, his passion and desire to perform for India were on full display. While the scores have not yet gone his way at the international level, the 15-year-old's determination and competitive spirit continue to stand out, and he will be hoping to learn from the experience and return stronger in the upcoming matches.
Earlier, India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first in the fourth T20I against England at the County Ground, Bristol, backing his batters to put runs on the board in a must-win encounter. With England leading the five-match series 2-0 and a match abandoned due to rain, India needed victory to keep their hopes alive, making the toss a significant moment.
The visitors also made two changes to their playing XI, bringing back Washington Sundar and Prasidh Krishna, while England included Rehan Ahmed in place of Liam Dawson. Iyer's decision reflected confidence in setting a competitive total on a surface expected to favour stroke-making before offering assistance to the bowlers later in the game.
