Former Rajasthan Royals star Jos Buttler had a reunion with the team, where he heaped praise on their young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Notably, Buttler and his Co. will be up against the Royals in a group-stage fixture of the IPL 2026 at Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Ahead of the fixture, both teams appeared for net sessions where Buttler met Suryavanshi and RR team manager Romy Bhinder.

During the conversation, the Englishman expressed his admiration for the young Indian lad and called him the ‘best player’ he has ever seen. Not only this, but Buttler expressed his curiosity about Suryavanshi’s future. It is to be noted that this is not the first time the former RR player has been vocal about how Suryavanshi left him stunned during his debut IPL season

"I said don't get him too excited. I said the best player I've ever seen,” Buttler told Romy Bhinder in a conversation where Suryavanshi was also present. “Imagine when he is 21 or 25, the world at his feet. So good to watch," he added. "You broke English hearts in the U19 World Cup. It's awesome.”

Notably, Butler left RR ahead of the IPL 2025, ending his seven-year season tenure, and joined GT for INR 15.75 crore.

Going to be an important season for him: RR batting coach Vikram Rathour on Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Ahead of the RR’s upcoming clash against the GT, batting coach Vikram Rathour talked about Vaibhav Suryavanshi and said that this is going to be an important season for him. Rathour labelled Suryavanshi as a “very special player” and said that he is playing very good cricket. “My thoughts are pretty consistent. He is a very, very special player. That’s what I believed last year as well,” Rathour said of Suryavanshi.

“He has done really well post-IPL last year. He is still looking very good, working hard, and playing some really good cricket. It’s going to be an important season for him, but his mind is in the right space. He’s working really hard.”

Notably, in their season opener, Suryavanshi struck a 17-ball 52 in RR’s successful chase of 128 against the CSK in the opener.
