Lucknow Super Giants opener Josh Inglis recorded his first fifty of the season during the clash against the Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. Both sides locked horns in the 53rd fixture of the Indian Premier League 2026 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on May 10. The game saw home skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad winning the toss over Rishabh Pant, and invited the rivals to bat first. The Super Giants, who were coming off a nine-run win over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, looked confident, and got off to a blistering start.
While the Chennai Super Kings got their first success in the form of Mitchell Marsh, who departed at 10 (10), Josh Inglis remained stable and posted a quickfire 50. The Aussie batter utilized just 17 deliveries for the same, and put up his first half-century of the season. Not only this, but by the end of the powerplay, Inglis had 77 runs off 25 balls, one of the highest individual scores in the first six overs.
In addition to this, Inglis now has the third fastest 50 for the Sanjiv Goenka-led franchise, only after Nicholas Pooran’s 15 and 16-ball fifties.

Josh Inglis really took Hosein apart. Having two Aussie batters at the centre is surely tempting for any captain to introduce spin, but Rutu could have held back on giving him second over.
