The IPL 2026 is moving towards its end and in the 50th match we have the Royal Challengers Bengaluru visiting the Ekana Stadium to clash against the Lucknow Super Giants on Thursday, May 7. The defending champions are one of the best performing teams in the current season, having recorded six wins in nine games. However, in their last game, RCB slumped to the Gujarat Titans by a margin of four wickets. 

On the other hand, the Super Giants are seeded at the bottom of the standings with just two wins in nine fixtures. Practically, they are out of the playoff contention for this season. It rewards disciplined bowling and batting here is extremely difficult. 

It is known for its slow two-paced surface, and offers good bounce to seamers while providing grip for spinners and a first-innings average of just 155. Teams have failed to cross 200 here, and the stadium has proven lucky for the ones chasing here. In short, toss plays a key role here. 

After the initial overs in an innings, the surface slows down and offers grip for spinners, who dominate the middle overs. In the previous match at the venue, seamers also found help throughout the innings, which means both pace and spin come off as a threat at different stages. 

Lucknow’s Weather Forecast for Thursday 

The weather in Lucknow is expected to remain mostly clear during the day, but according to forecasts, there could be a spell of light showers during the game time. Apart from it, temperatures are likely to range between 22 degrees to 30 degree Celsius during the match hours. However, the probability of rain remains low at around 10 percent. While a complete washout appears unlikely, we can expect brief interruptions during the match. In case of a rain spell, conditions could become more difficult for batters as the surface may slow down further.
