During the Asia Cup, for the first time in the history of cricket the captains of India and Pakistan did not shake hands with each other. The decision to not shake hands came after Pahalgam attack which happened in May. The controversy happened during the Asia Cup final where India won, they denied to take trophy from Mohsin Naqvi as he was from Pakistan and instead of making someone else present the trophy, Mohsin Naqvi ran away with it.
Once the post match presentation got under way, it was revealed by presenter Simon Doull that the Indian cricket team had refused to attend it and would not collect their medals or the Asia Cup trophy, from Naqvi, who is also chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and Pakistan’s interior minister. “Indian team refuses to accept Asia Cup winners’ trophy from Pakistan minister and ACC head Mohsin Naqvi,” the Press Trust of India reported after the ceremony. Mohsin Naqvi went away with the trophy, India captain Suryakumar Yadav and his teammates cheered with a mock trophy as they celebrated their ninth Asia Cup title.

Ashes 2025: Snicko Controversy
This happened in the recent Ashes, when Jamie Smith was adjudged not out when the on-field umpires reviewed a possible catch at first slip by Usman Khawaja off Pat Cummins’ bowling. Chris Gaffaney, the TV umpire, suggested that the ball had hit Smith on the helmet after consulting Snicko, but Australia were convinced that it had hit him on the glove. After that decision, Mitchell Starc called for Snicko to be sacked after the edge-detection technology’s reliability came under the scanner for a second consecutive day in the third Ashes Test.
The previous event involved when Alex Carey was given not out and there was no evidence on Snicko. Cricket Australia’s chief executive sought answers over its previous malfunction. England had a review reinstated by match referee Jeff Crowe on the second morning after BBG Sports, the suppliers of Snicko, conceded operator error had led to an incorrect decision for Alex Carey during his opening-day century. Many former players and Experts said people and players have lost faith in Snicko and there needs to be a change.
