On this day, March 27, 2025: Nicholas Pooran stuns Sunrisers Hyderabad with a fiery knock of 70 from 26 balls. It was the seventh match of the 2025 season between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants. It was Sunrisers Hyderabad who were batting first and lost two wickets early. Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan lost their wicket in the two consecutive balls as Shardul Thakur struck early and SRH were in deep trouble early on.
Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy stitched up a good partnership of more than 50 runs. Travis Head scored 47 runs of 28 balls before getting dismissed while Nitish Reddy scored 32 runs of 28 balls. Heinrich Klassen and Aniket Verma provided excellent finishes for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Klassen smashed 26 while Aniket Verma scored 36 off just 13 balls which included five massive sixes. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 190/9 at the end of the first innings and it was a good score on that surface.

For Lucknow Super Giants, it was Shardul Thakur who was the pick of the bowlers picking up four wickets in the innings. The match was in the balance at the halfway stage and the surface was good for batting. Lucknow Super Giants lost the wicket of Aiden Markram early and they were in a bit of trouble. But Mitchell Marsh joined Nicholas Pooran put up a big partnership to bring LSG back into the game.

Mitch Marsh went past his half century while Nicholas Pooran was the star of the show smashing 70 runs off just 26 balls. Pooran sealed the game as he brought down the required rate to less than six. Pooran smashed 6 sixes in his innings and was dismissed for 70 but by then he had ensured that LSG were right on top. SRH picked up a few wickets but LSG chased down the target in the 17th over and won the match by five wickets. It was a comprehensive chase led by Nicholas Pooran who was the star of the show.
